Grace Mark, MSW, LCSWA

About Me

Hi, there. I’m Grace (they/she). If you’re reading this, you may be considering the vulnerable, messy, beautiful, healing work of therapy. I may be a good fit if you are an adult individual who is: feeling “stuck” in inner conflict and uncertain of what’s next, high-achieving and grappling with a harsh inner critic, feeling out of sync with your values or how you want to live your life, feeling overwhelmed by your emotions, feeling unheard or seeking deeper connection in your relationships, or have engaged in therapy and learned helpful skills but didn’t get to the root of your concerns. Maybe you’re a graduate student or LGBTQ+ person wanting to process the varied challenges and pleasures of life.

I am not here to give you answers, but rather to journey with you in an endeavor toward a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences, challenges, goals, and strengths. I will bring warmth, empathy, non judgment, curiosity, and often humor to our shared space, and will treat you as the expert of your own experience. There may be tears in one moment and laughter the next. However you show up, I am here as a collaborator in this work. Together, we can imagine (and practice) what fulfillment looks like in your life through harmony with different parts of yourself, others, and your communities

As a white, queer, Jewish, genderfluid person, I am deeply committed to approaching this work with an anti-oppressive lens and take pleasure in exploring practices that are culturally resonant, identity-affirming, and personally meaningful to you. I work to foster a therapeutic relationship that creates space for all parts of you to feel welcome. With that said, as humans there are pieces of us that expand beyond the context of the therapy room. Prior to obtaining my MSW from UNC-CH, I worked in nonprofits focused on arts education, housing, racial equity, and supporting sex workers. Outside of work I may be found reading speculative fiction, camping in the mountains, dancing to live music, thrifting, binge- watching comedies, crafting with loved ones, or doting on my pets.
