- Grief & Loss
What is it?
Grief can take on many different forms, even within one person for different losses. Oftentimes, we see grief as occurring over the loss of loved ones or cherished experiences. However, it can also occur when we feel stuck, when our expectations or dreams go unmet, when we lose a part of ourselves, and when we lose our community or pieces of our culture. Grief can be all consuming and it can stay as long as it needs to.
When one needs treatment?
- Struggling to cope with the death of a loved person or pet
- Feeling stuck around a life stage change, or other big change, due to difficulties in letting go of the past
- Grief or sadness around unmet expectations or changes in accessibility to dreams for the future
- Ambiguous loss
- Persistent feelings of sadness, anger, or guilt related to the loss
- Difficulty functioning in daily life due to grief
- Feeling isolated or misunderstood in the grieving process
- Seeking support in finding meaning or moving forward after a loss
